Lowering Baud Rate on Dell Fax Machines

The settings that you need to set for VoIP are accessible under the Advanced Fax Settings.  Follow these instructions to enter the Advanced Fax Settings which are located in the Diagnostic Menu (Customer Mode).

  • Turn off the machine and disconnect all network, phone line, USB and Parallel cables from the device.
  • Turn on the machine while Pressing both the Up and Down Arrows the and button.  The Customer Mode menu will appear.
  • **After the Advanced Fax Settings have all been made, you need to turn off and back on the machine for the new settings to be effective.
Lowering Baud Rate on 3115cn

You can set the Baud rate with the following:

  • Enter Customer Mode (see above), and select Fax/Scanner Diag and Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until Parameter appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until Fax Parameter appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until G3M TX Modem Speed  appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until v29 appears, then Press the  button.

You will also need to lower the Baud receive speed to 9600 with the following instructions:

  • Enter Customer Mode (see above), and select Fax/Scanner Diag and Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until Parameter appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until Fax Parameter appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until G3M RX Modem Speed  appears, then Press the  button.
  • Press the Down Arrow button until v27ter+v29 appears, then Press the  button.

Lowering Baud Rate on Dell Fax Machines

You can set the Baud rate with the following:

  • Go to Fax options and select AdvancedFax.
  • Select Max Send Speed and select 9600.

After making the adjustments above and before sending, go to fax options, Advanced Fax, select Scan before dial, the hit the right arrow and select No.
